A commitment to the future
The reason behind every decision
Nature isn't a backdrop: it's where our children, and everyone who comes after them, will grow up — and they deserve to inherit something better than what we leave behind today.
Every piece of waste, every microplastic we generate doesn't disappear: it stays. We look to those who've already paved the way by taking care of these processes, because we believe good actions don't appear on their own: they need real examples showing how it's done.
That's why we think about the impact of every object we make: where the material comes from, what footprint producing it leaves relative to how long it will actually be used, and what happens to it when it wears out or is thrown away.
How we choose
We choose every material and every workshop with a critical eye. We work with people who make things nearby, to keep transport to a minimum, and with those who take care of the processes they use.
Likewise, we prefer materials that don't pose a danger when they break down in nature, even if that means turning down cheaper or faster suppliers. That's the standard we use, every time, to decide who we work with.
In practice
Every Cocolitos piece is made locally, in workshops that work with the certified materials we source and specify ourselves. We know who makes it and where every piece comes from, from the very first order.
Every material we use carries a real, checkable certification: wood, cotton, paper, inks, paints, adhesives, varnishes, elastic, and buttons. All of it to make sure every piece of ours meets the strictest safety standards for children.
We design objects to outlast a single stage. The elastic on the EvoClic bib is replaceable, so there's no need to buy a new one. The LexiPlay poster or the MerryCube stamps, with few elements, works just as well for a one-year-old as for a five-year-old (or older).
Materials with a name
The result of that standard: the real materials, certifications, and workshops behind every piece.
FSC® wood
The pine supplier for our MerryCube stamps, Solanellas (Terrassa), holds FSC® certification, which guarantees that their wood comes from responsibly managed forests.
Certified papers
The LexiPlay posters are printed on Fedrigoni Arena Natural Rough paper, FSC® Mix certified. The Grand Calendar is made on Cyclus Offset paper, 100% recycled, with FSC® Recycled and Cradle to Cradle® Silver certification.
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Class I dyes
The dyes that colour the cotton fabric of the EvoClic bib are dyed at Sori (Terrassa), certified OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Class I — the strictest class, intended for products in direct contact with babies' skin.
Vegetable-based inks
The Grand Calendar is printed at Cevagraf, a cooperative print house in Rubí specialising in editorial production, committed to the social economy and using vegetable-based inks in its printing process.
Replaceable elastic
The latex and raw cotton elastic on the EvoClic bib is custom-made at Hiltrento (Elche) to the exact width we need for each size.
Frequently asked questions
Why don't you have your own certifications or seals?
For now, we work with suppliers who can certify that the materials we receive are themselves certified — FSC®, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Class I. We don't hold a certification of our own yet, but every order comes documented with the supplier's certificate, and we can show it.
Can the materials be repaired if they break?
The elastic on the EvoClic bib is replaceable, so if it wears out, there's no need to buy a new bib. For the rest of our products, durability comes from the material and the design, not from a repair service. Where exactly is each product made?
We design and direct every piece from Barcelona. Production is spread across workshops and print houses in Barcelona, the Vallès and other parts of the Valencian Community — you can see the specific materials and suppliers further up this same page.
Why don't you say “100% sustainable”?
Because no company can be, fully. “Sustainable” without specifics is an empty label. We'd rather explain what we actually do — which materials, which certifications, how we produce, and the way of working we choose — and let you draw your own conclusions.
