An educational poster can also be an invitation to observe and talk together. A simple question is often enough to turn its elements into a small shared game.
We can point to colours, look for numbers or letters, or invent small questions:
✦ What should we play today: naming colours or naming numbers?
✦ Where does number 9 have its belly?
✦ Which number looks like a snake?
✦ Shall we sing the alphabet while pointing to each letter?
With young children, any small detail can become a game and an excuse to spend time together, laughing while discovering new words. All it takes is a little imagination.
